"Connections 2003" Conference

"Connections 2003," the eleventh annual international conference on conflict simulation, was held 15-18 July 2003 in Rome, NY, hosted by the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Information Directorate.

The goal of Connections is to increase the defense utility of all conflict simulations by facilitating their evolution toward greater comprehensiveness and accessibility. Our concept for reaching that goal is to encourage the Defense and Commercial wargame communities to learn from each other and from subject matter experts in those areas of conflict that are typically not modeled well.

This year’s speakers included Col Westernhoff, Deputy Chief of Checkmate, Mr. James Dunnigan, Wargame Designer Emeritus, Mr. Mike Crane, Deputy Director of Faculty Research at the USAF Academy, Dr. Stephen Downes-Martin at the U.S. Naval War College, Capt Chad Etspamer, Chief of Analysis at the Air Force Wargaming Institute, and Mr. Jeff Leser at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
